Hydrogen Generation
EI have developed a bench-scale process for converting non-beneficial groundwater to hydrogen that can be used in hydrogen fuel cells to power vehicles and generators. Through the development of this process hydrogen fuel can be produced at source reducing the need for transport or connection to an electricity grid.

Silicon Anode
EI have successfully created a porous silicon material that has potential use as a silicon anode in Lithium Ion Batteries (LIB). Given the significantly higher charge capacity of silicon over conventional graphite the porous silicon anode material has the potential to significantly improve the performance of LIB’s. The high porosity of the silicon anode material overcomes the volumetric changes that occurs during lithiation / delithiation.
